As we kick off 2026, the January release brings enhancements across AI, BI, and Mosaic that make your work faster, smarter, and more seamless. From unified AI workflows to more flexible dashboards and deeper data integration, these updates are designed to help teams extract insights, collaborate efficiently, and deliver value at scale.

AI: Smarter, unified, and more creative

Seamless AI across suites with unified MCP support

With the latest MCP integration, connecting any MCP client to your Agent workflows is now effortless. Teams can securely authenticate with OAuth 2.0 and PKCE while maintaining access to the Strategy Library and enterprise data. This unified interface simplifies AI adoption, accelerates cross-platform collaboration, and allows your team to leverage the best AI tools without friction—saving time and boosting productivity.

Enhanced Creativity in Auto Dashboard

Auto Dashboard just got more flexible. Users can now set full-page background images, customize page-level colors, and apply freeform layouts to dashboards. Whether you’re building executive reports or interactive team dashboards, these improvements make it easier to create visually engaging, branded experiences tailored to your audience.

BI: Efficiency and precision at scale

Improved dashboard authoring with zoom & fit options

Authors can now control the zoom level of locked-size dashboards, making it easier to focus on specific areas without losing context. Keep all editor panels open while fine-tuning layouts and content placement. This small but powerful improvement delivers a smoother, more precise dashboard authoring experience across clients and browsers.

Bulk add objects to history list in Workstation

Managing analytics at scale is now faster. Select multiple cubes, reports, documents, and dashboards and add them to your History List in one action. Supported in both Smart View and Folder View, this enhancement mirrors familiar Developer workflows, simplifies large-volume management, and maintains strong performance and stability—even with many objects.

Mosaic: Model linking, expanded support, and Python queries

Mosaic model linking: Enterprise-scale connected insights

Mosaic Model Linking makes it easy for analysts and architects to bring together data from multiple Mosaic models without copying, duplicating, or moving data. By linking models, teams can reuse existing semantics, accelerate insight discovery, and support governed, multi-source live or hybrid queries across the enterprise.

Strengthen federated data mesh strategies by querying data where it already lives, all while preserving governance, security, and consistent business definitions. The result: faster, more flexible analysis, simplified model management, and lower compute and storage costs across your analytics ecosystem.

Seamless data model integration for documents (RSD)

Adding standalone Mosaic models as datasets in Report Service Documents is now simple and intuitive. Browse attributes and metrics, create derived objects, and manage datasets with ease. This streamlined workflow strengthens enterprise adoption, simplifies migration, and ensures your teams can deliver insights faster while retaining the full value of BI.

Universal Semantic Layer: ArcGIS support in Power BI

Geospatial data just got more actionable. With ArcGIS now fully supported through Strategy’s universal semantic layer, Power BI users can connect diverse data sources, maintain consistent business definitions, and visualize geospatial analytics using familiar filters and slicers. The result is a standardized, governed, and open analytics environment that brings spatial insights into every decision.

AI-assisted Python query generation in Mosaic

Accelerate data sourcing and integration with AI-powered guidance for Python queries. Describe your target data, and Mosaic helps generate, customize, and validate code across catalog, preview, publish, and refresh workflows. This reduces manual effort, simplifies non-standard data integration, and enables developers to bring more enterprise data into Strategy faster and more intuitively.
